Apple Crisp Puff
Apple crisp puff with homemade toffee sauce for today’s snow day dessert.
Ingredients
1 Apple, cut into very small pieces (I’m lazy so I keep the skins on)
4 tbsp light brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
4 tablespoons oats
1 box puff pastry
2 tablespoons of butter, melted
Toffee sauce (optional)
Directions 1. Put puff pastry into the fridge the night before (or not recommended but it works in a pinch to thaw in microwave). 2. Cut puff pastry into four squares. Brush top side facing you with butter. 3. Mix apples, oats, sugar and cinnamon together. 4. Place your puff pastry onto a tea towel with it laying down looking like a diamond. 5. Add mixture into middle of one piece of puff pastry and spread thin (keeping it in the middle). 6. Pull in the left corner and then the right corner on top of left. 7. Pull up the bottom and smooth out crease. 8. Brush top with butter. 9. Grease a baking sheet and place on sheet. 10. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 400 F degrees until golden brown. 11. Let cool for 5 minutes. 12. Drizzle (or in my case splash) toffee on top.
