To Get

Surya Grahan (Solar Eclipse) will be here on December 4th. While it will be visible in Antarctica, those at the southern tip of South America, Africa, New Zealand and Australia may be able to partially see it.
"Surya" means sun in Sanskrit. My teacher, Swami Gurusharanananda said the other day during Satsang that "Grahan" means "to get." So, what do you get during a solar eclipse? Knowledge. Not just any knowledge, but knowledge that helps you on your spiritual path. You also get, he says, bhakti. Bhakti yoga is the yoga of devotion.
Plan to spend some time on Friday, December 4th, whether you can see the eclipse or not, to allow yourself you accept that knowledge which supports you on your path, and the devotion that will carry you through. Meditation and/or chanting are optimal.
